Installation Instructions:

WARNING:

DISCONNECT ALL ELECTRICAL POWER AND SHUT
OFF GAS TO THE FURNACE BEFORE PROCEEDING.

CAUTION:

LABEL ALL WIRES PRIOR TO DISCONNECTION
WHEN SERVICING CONTROLS. WIRING ERRORS
CAN CAUSE IMPROPER AND DANGEROUS
OPERATION. VERIFY PROPER OPERATION AFTER
SERVICING.

NOTE:

DO NOT USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU
ARE REPLACING A B18099-23 MODULE WITH A
B18099-23 MODULE. THIS IS STRICTLY FOR THE
USE OF REPLACING A B18099-12 MODULE WITH A
B18099-23.

INSTALLATION

• Remove both access panels.
• Remove the 6-pin edgecard connector from the existing
module and from the subsequent components and
discard.
• Remove the 4-pin edgecard connector from the existing
module and from the subsequent components and
discard.
• Remove the rest of the wires from the existing module
and save for use with the new module.
• Remove the existing HSI module. Care should be
exercised as not to damage the nylon standoffs.
• Install the B18099-23 module using same alignment
holes.
• Push the enclosed 12-pin wire harness connector into
the HSI module making sure of good contact. It can go
in only one way. DO NOT force.
• Reconnect the thermostat wires.
• Remove the red wire from the 24 volt side of the
secondary side of the transformer and discard.
• Remove and reuse the blue ground wire from the
transformer. DO NOT discard.
• Remove the blue wire from the transformer and discard.
• Place the red (12" wire #10 in the plug) wire from the
12-pin connector on to “24 volt” of the secondary side
of the transformer.
• Place the blue wire (12" wire #4 in the plug) from the
12-pin connector on to “Common” terminal of the
secondary side of the transformer. This wire has a piggy
back terminal.
• Place the blue ground wire, which was previously
removed, on to the “Common” terminal of the
transformer.
• Reconnect all components with appropriate wires using
enclosed wire diagram (B2857809) for reference.
• Replace the access panels.
• Restore gas and electrical power to the furnace.
• Verify the sequence of operation as noted in the
Installation & Operating Instructions.
